Act Now: Help Shift the Farm Bill

Over the next five years, the United States government will spend more than $700 billion through the Farm Bill, including in critical nutrition that supports more than 40 million people in the United States. But if the 2023 Farm Bill looks like the 2018 Farm Bill, it will also reinvest in the factory food system model that perpetuates suffering and animal agriculture.

Only Big Ag, millionaire landowners, and billionaire investors truly benefit from the Farm Bill’s factory-food-system approach.

Please send a message to your U.S. representative and senators today and ask them to support Representative Earl Blumenauer’s (OR-03) Food and Farm Act of 2023, a bold revision of the Farm Bill that shifts investments away from Big Ag and our factory food system.

This alternative bill focuses resources on those who need them most, fosters innovation, and encourages investments in animal welfare, communities, and the environment while increasing access to healthy fruits and vegetables.

The United States Department of Agriculture has repeatedly called for a "transformative" approach to food system reform. Congress, this is your time. The United States could build nutrition for all, sustainable farmer opportunity, and justice across the food system supply chain. The federal government could invest in the plant and plant-based supply chains that could one day nourish everyone.
